Also, I feel I should mention that I'm ignoring the fact that Square-Enix has anything to do with it for now. Seems irrelevant until they release gameplay videos and/or the demo. Then we'll see if it's actually Supreme Commander 2 or if it's Supreme Teen Angst Commander: I Have Silly Clothes, a Girly 'do, and an Overly Large Sword.

In other words, until we get word that they're turning it into JRPG, I don't really care who's involved. D:

I played SupCom on a machine that was 4+ years old at the time. I could only do 1v1s on small maps, but it was playable, at least.

I hope they fix the issues the original had as well. FA was a step in the right direction, but I'm not sure it was enough. I never cared enough to take FA online; by the time that game dropped SupCom had sucked all my interest in the series out the window. Even though the things that killed SupCom for me were mostly gone from FA -- namely the turtle factor given T1/T3 mass fabs and the race to T3 bots -- it still wasn't enough to draw me in. The most I ever did with the game was watch quite a number of 1v1 replays of the top 20 players at +5 speed.

If the factions actually vary and the most important aspect becomes map control -- as opposed to getting one factory to T3 and then supporting it with 50 T1 engineers -- it should be great.
